You need: stiff natural/mixed fabric (cotton velvet, fabric suitable for suits) ), natural/faux leather; lining; fusing, zipper, 4 rings (for handles), zipper for inner pocket.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

Seam allowances: 1 cm for all seams. 0 cm for trimming.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Front part – 2 pieces

2. Lower part – 1 piece

3. Upper part – 2 pieces

4. Handle – 2 pieces

Lining:

1. Front part – 2 pieces

2. Lower part – 1 piece

3. Upper part – 2 pieces

4. Large sacking – 1 piece

5. Small sacking – 1 piece

Trim:

1. Trimming – 1 piece

Fusing: front/upper/lower parts, handles.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Apply the fusing to wrong side of front/upper/lower parts, handles.

2. Cut a fabric stripe of 24 cm length and 6 cm width. Fold the stripe along the center wrong side out and overstitch its long edge. Turn the detail right side out and cut it into 4 equal pieces (of 6 cm length). Fold each piece half-and-half, pull it through a ring, then stitch to front parts according to marks.

3. Cut a flap for zipper of 4 cm length and 3 cm width. Press it half-and-half.

4. Lay the flap on zipper’s right side. Lay upper part and lining upper part right sides together. Insert the zipper. Adjust edges. Stitch pieces together along zipper teeth; begin stitching at 1 cm from edges, stop stitching 1 cm before end. Turn pieces into right side.

5. Stitch lower part to upper parts’ side edges as well as to the flap.

6. Mark inner pocket at lining front part. Strengthen zipper place with the fusing. Cut a slit along the pocket entrance, make slashes at 1-1.5 cm from pocket end. Fold seam allowances into left side. Lay the zipper under pocket entrance edge with its teeth visible. Topstitch pocket entrance at 0.2 cm front the edge. Stitch large sacking to zipper upper braid, stitch small sacking to lower braid. Stitch lining edges.

7. Stitch lining lower part to lining upper parts’ edges as well as to the zipper.

8. Cut a ring holder of 6 cm length and 4 m width. Fold long allowances into wrong side, then press the stripe half-and-half.

9. Stitch front parts into the bag topstitching the trimming and inserting ring holders.

10. Stitch front part lining into bag lining leaving a hole to turn the bag right side out. Turn the bag right side out. Stitch the hole.

11. Fold the handle along the center wrong side out, overstitch long edge. Turn the detail right side out, then press. Make decorative stitches at 0.2-0.5 cm from the edge. Pull handle end into the ring, fold the allowances under and topstitch it on the handle.
