You need: stiff natural/mixed fabric, faux/natural leather; fusing, lining, zipper, zipper for inner pocket.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

Seam allowances: 1 cm for all seams. 0.5 cm for side part and side pocket. 0.5 cm for main part’s side edges.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Main part – 1 piece

2. Side part – 2 pieces

3. Side pocket – 2 pieces

4. Handle – 1 piece

5. Decorative detail – 1 piece

Lining:

1. Main part – 1 piece

2. Side part – 2 pieces

3. Large sacking – 1 piece

4. Small sacking – 1 piece

Fusing: main part, side part, side pocket, decorative detail, handle.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Apply the fusing to wrong side of main part, side part, side pocket, decorative detail, handle.

2. Cut 2 flaps of 4 cm length and 3 cm width. Press them half-and-half.

3. Neaten short edges of decorative detail, press the, into wrong side, then topstitch. Topstitch decorative detail on the base one along two long edges at 0.5 cm from the edge. (If you make stitching crosswise decorative detail you will have two additional pockets.)

4. Mark inner pocket at lining main part. Strengthen zipper place with the fusing. Cut a slit along the pocket entrance, make slashes at 1-1.5 cm from pocket end. Fold seam allowances into left side. Lay the zipper under pocket entrance edge with its teeth visible. Topstitch pocket entrance at 0.2 cm front the edge. Stitch large sacking to zipper upper braid, stitch small sacking to lower braid. Stitch lining edges.

5. Lay the flap on the zipper (right side). Lay fabric main part on lining main part right sides together inserting the zipper. Adjust edges. Stitch details together along zipper teeth: begin stitching at 1 cm from edges and stop it at 1 cm before the end. Fold details into right side.

6. Fold side pocket half-and-half right wide out, then topstitch it on bag side at 0.5 cm from the edge.

7. Cut a handle (for its length, see main part’s pattern). Fold the handle along the center wrong side out, overstitch long edge. Turn the detail right side out and press it. Make decorative stitch at 0.2 cm from the edge. Lay the handle on the decorative detail overlapping edges. Topstitch the handle on the bag with two parallel stitches. Stop stitching at decorative detail’s upper edge.

8. Lay main part and side part wrong sides together. Stitch side part to the bad with overlock, according to marks.

9. Stitch lining side part to bag lining leaving a hole to turn the bag right side out. Turn the bag right side out. Stitch the hole.
