You need: stiff natural/mixed fabric (cotton velvet or fabric suitable for suits); fusing, lining, zipper, cord.

 

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

 

Seam allowances: 1 cm for all seams.

 

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

 

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

 

CUTTING:

 

Fabric:

1. Front part – 1 piece

2. Back part – 1 piece

3. Side part – 4 pieces

4. Upper part – 1 piece

5. Bottom – 1 piece

6. Handle_1 – 1 piece

7. Handle – 2 pieces

8. Upper part lining – 1 piece

 

Lining:

1. Front part – 1 piece

2. Back part – 1 piece

3. Side part – 2 pieces

4. Bottom – 1 piece

5. Large sacking – 1 piece

6. Small sacking – 1 piece

 

Fusing: front/back/side parts, handles and bottom.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Apply the fusing to wrong side of front/back/side parts, handles and bottom.

 

2. Fold the handle_1 along the center right side out. Fold long allowances under and make stitch at 0.1 cm from the edge.

 

3. Mark inner pocket at lining front part. Strengthen zipper place with the fusing. Cut a slit along the pocket entrance, make slashes at 1-1.5 cm from pocket end. Fold seam allowances into left side. Lay the zipper under pocket entrance edge with its teeth visible. Topstitch pocket entrance at 0.2 cm front the edge. Stitch large sacking to zipper upper braid, stitch small sacking to lower braid. Stitch lining edges.

 

4. Lay fabric upper part and lining upper part right sides together. Adjust edges and overstitch along three sides. Turn all right side out and make a stitch at 0.5 cm from the edge.

 

5. Fold the handle along the center wrong side out and stitch long edge. Turn the detail right side out, make stitches on two sides at 0.5 cm from edges.

 

6. Stitch side details to front part. Stitch side parts to back part. Stitch side details together. Stitch the bottom inserting marks.

 

7. Stitch lining details in the same way as fabric’s leaving a hole for turning the bag right side out. Stitch the bottom.

 

8. Lay the bag and the lining right sides together and overstitch along upper edge inserting upper part, handles and the handle_1 as marked.

 

9. Turn the bag right side out, stitch the hole. Set eyelets and pull the cord into them.
