You need: stiff natural/mixed fabric; fusing, lining, decorative cord.

 

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

 

Seam allowances: 1 cm for all seams.

 

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

 

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

 

CUTTING:

 

Fabric:

1. Upper part – 1 piece

2. Bottom – 1 piece

 

Lining:

1. Upper part – 1 piece

2. Bottom – 1 piece

 

Fusing: lining upper part, lining bottom.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Apply the fusing to wrong side of lining upper part, lining bottom.

 

2. Stitch upper part as a ring.

 

3. Stitch the lining as a ring leaving a hole for turning the bag right side out.

 

4. Cut a handle of 40 cm length and 4 cm width. Fold it along the center right side out, fold allowances into wrong side and make a stitch at 0.1 cm from the edge.

 

5. Set loops in bag’s upper part.

 

6. Stitch upper part and the lining along upper edge inserting the handle as marked.

 

7. Fold upper part inside as marked. Make two round parallel stitches. Upper stitch goes along loop’s upper edge, lower one goes along loop’s lower edge.

 

8. Make a seam with loose upper stitches at 0.9 cm from lower edge. Gather the fabric. See gathering length on upper part’s pattern.

 

9. Lining: make a seam with loose upper stitches at 0.9 cm from lower edge. Gather the lining. See gathering length on upper part’s pattern.

 

10. Stitch the bottom to the bag. Stitch lining bottom to bag lining.

 

11. Turn the bag right side out. Stitch the hole.

 

12. Cut the cord into two equal parts. Set one of cords into the loop and, pull it through the coulisse and pull out from this loop. Do the same with another cord and another loop. Set tips on cord ends or tie them.
