You will also need: lining, invisible zipper
If the pattern has a double line around it, the seam allowances are included.
Note: By default, seam allowances are NOT included (single line) and will need to be added when laying out and cutting details.
Seam allowance: on hem of the dress – 3.0 cm; along the lower edge of fall part - 0 cm; all other seams - 1 cm.
Attention! First of all, please print all the paper patterns and lay them out at the width of fabric you plan to use (usually from 90 to 150 cm) to see how much fabric you will need. Don't forget to take into account pieces to be duplicated or cut on a fold.
When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches. They must match up with corresponding pieces.
CUTTING:
The word, “beam” used on some patterns means “straight of grain”. Some pieces will be cut on the fold, this is noted on the pattern piece. Mark all notches and other design features such as darts, pleats etc. from the pattern onto your fabric.
Darts: The fold of the dart is always pressed toward the center of your garment, or down toward the hem.
Fabric:
1. Upper back - cut 2
2. Lower back – cut 2
3. Left upper front - cut 1 4. Right upper front - cut 1 5. Lower front – cut 1
6. Fall part – cut 1
Lining:
1. Upper back - cut 2
2. Left upper front - cut 1 3. Right upper front - cut 1
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Sew darts on upper and lower back. Press darts toward center. Sew darts on lower front, press towards center.
2. Sew upper and lower backs, serge and press seam allowances upward.
3. Serge center edges of backs separately. Sew center back seam from the zipper
notch down to hem, press seam allowances apart, including opening for zipper. Sew in the zipper. 4. Serge seam allowance of outer edge of fall part with narrow rolled seam. Make and fasten pleats according to markers along top edge. Pin outer fall part onto lower front and baste along side and top edges (outer fall part is shorter than front part at the width of turnup).
5. Make and fasten pleats on right upper front and on right upper lining. Press depths
downwards. Pin main fabric to lining right sides together, and sew neckline edge and lower edge. Turn right side out, straighten, press.
6. Make and fasten pleats according to markers on left upper front and on left upper front lining. Pin front to lining right sides together, and sew neckline edge. Turn right side out, straighten, and press.
7. Serge lower edge of back lining. Pin upper backs with back linings right sides together, and sew neckline edges. Turn right side out, straighten,and press.
8. Sew shoulder seams of the main garment and of lining in continuous stitch. Press seam apart. Turn right side out.
9. Sew edges of armholes, clip into curves, turn right side out, and press.
10. Sew left upper and lower fronts, serge and press seam allowances upward. Pin right front onto left one and tack to side seams.
11. Insert front between lining and main fabric of back and sew side seams. Serge seam allowances, and press toward back, turn garment right side out. Tack back lining to main fabric, stitching along upper and lower back connecting seam. Sew center
edge of lining to zipper tape.
12. Serge lower edge of garment, turn onto wrong side, press, and sew with invisible
stitches.
