Recommendations on fabric: dress fabric with lycra

You will also need: invisible dress zipper, fusible interfacing, bias tape for front decoration (the approximate length is mentioned on the front pattern piece)

If the pattern has a double line around it, the seam allowances are included.
Note: By default, seam allowances are NOT included (single line) and will need to be added when laying out and cutting details.

Seam allowance: on hem of sleeve — 1.5 cm, on hem of the dress – 3 cm, on outer edge of decoration — 0 cm, all other seams - 1 cm

Attention! First of all, please print all the paper patterns and lay them out at the width of fabric you plan to use (usually from 90 to 150 cm) to see how much fabric you will need. Don't forget to take into account pieces to be duplicated or cut on a fold.

When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches, they must match up with corresponding pieces.

CUTTING:
The word, “beam” used on some patterns means “straight of grain”. Some pieces will be cut on the fold, this is noted on the pattern piece. Mark all notches and other design features such as darts, pleats etc. from the pattern onto your fabric.

Darts: The fold of the dart is always pressed toward the center of your garment, or down toward the hem.

Fabric:
1. Upper back bodice - cut 2 2. Lower back skirt - cut 2
3. Upper front bodice– cut 1 4. Lower front skirt - cut 1
5. Front decoration — cut 1 6. Sleeve — cut 2
7. Strap — cut 1
8. Back neck facing - cut 2 9. Front neck facing — cut 1

INSTRUCTIONS:

6. Fold strap in half, right sides together, and sew long edge. Turn strap right side out and press, placing seam in the center. On decoration make a free gathering. Pin strap on decoration, wrong side upwards, matching lower edge and the mark. Topstitch strap, fastening gathering. Turn strap upwards and match upper edge with neckline edge.
7. Sew shoulder seams of facings. Press seam apart. Serge outer edge of the facings. Pin facings to neckline and sew. Clip into curves, understitch, turn facing onto wrong side and press. Tack the facing by hand to shoulder seams and to zipper tape.
8. Serge bottom edge of sleeve, turn under, and topstitch. Sew sleeve into the armhole.
9. Use ‘ready made bias tape’ or cut a strip of bias tape of 4 cm wide and the length of the armhole + 5см. Fold bias tape in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press. Pin the bias tape on armhole edge from right side and sew. Trim seam allowances. Turn bias tape onto wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto main garment. Press seam.
