5325 BLUE DRESS

YOU NEED: silk, zipper and piping.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm. for all seams, 3 cm. for hem.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric pieces).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE MATCHING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Draping – 2 pieces

2. Strap – 2 pieces

3. Centre back - 2 pieces

4. Side back – 2 pieces

5. Centre front - 1 piece

6. Side front – 2 pieces

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Stitch front bust darts; press them downwards.

2. Stitch and neaten the front curved edges. Press the seams towards the center front.

3. Stitch and neaten the back curved edges. Press them towards the centre back.

4. Neaten and stitch side edges up to the top slit. Press the seams open.

5. With right side out, press piping for the back décolleté and the front armholes in half lengthways. Topstitch the piping 0.1 cm from the lower edge inserting the décolleté and the front armhole edges.

6. Stitch shoulder straps 0.5 cm from the edges. Turn them right side out and press. Stitch the straps to the front neck edges.

7. Stitch the draping outer edges. Press this seam.

8. Stitch the draping outer layer to the front neckline. Fold the draping wrong side out and overstitch the outer edge between the joining seam and the draping side edge. Turn the draping right side out and press it.

9. Neaten the front neck and draping edges. Fold the seam allowance to the centre front and topstitch o.1 cm away from the seam.

10. Neaten the back centre edges and stitch them between the closure marks and the hem. Press the back central seam open, pressing the closure slit. Sew the zipper in with its teeth hidden.

11. Try the dress on, checking the straps length. Fix the straps to the back. Turn the draping side allowances to the wrong side. Cease the straps with the draping and fix these with stitches. Sew the draping side edger to the back décolleté.

12. Check the slit depths. Neaten the hem. Overstitch lower corners of the slits and turn them right side out. Fix the slit seam allowances to the garment. Fold the hem under and stitch in place.
