ASIAN DRESS
YOU WILL NEED: silk or
satin; iron-on interfacing; zipper; piping; 3
decorative loops, 3 buttons, 4 hooks.

THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.
SEAM
ALLOWANCE: 1 cm for all seams, 3 cm for hem.
ATTENTION! Before
sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width
(from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about
double and symmetric pieces).
WHEN
SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE MATCHING!
CUTTING:
Fabric:
1.
Stand collar – 2 pieces

Back – 2 pieces
3.
Front – 1 piece
4.
Upper front – 1 piece
Interfacing: under
stand collar piece.
INSTRUCTION:
1.
Apply the interfacing to the wrong side of the under stand collar.
2. Stitch press downwards the bust darts.
Stitch the front/back vertical
darts and press them towards the centre.
3.
Press the piping along the center (for edging of the top front and the front
curved edges). Stitch the piping to the top front lower edges and the front
curved edges.
4.
Neaten the side back/side front/top front/back armhole edges. Stitch shoulder
edges; neaten the seams. Press them backwards.
5. Stitch and press open the top front side
seam and the back left side seam.
6. Stitch the left side seam between the
closure mark and slit. Press the seam open pressing the slit. Stitch zipper
under the slit with the teeth
hidden. Stitch the right side seam
leaving a slit. Fold armhole allowances under and topstitch.

Stitch the center back edges and neaten it.
8.
Make up and shape the collar Stitch the collar to the neckline and topstitch top
collar lower edge through the previously made seam. Make decorative stitch around
the outer collar edge.

Trim and neaten the hem. Overstitch and turn right side out the slit lower
corners. Fix the slit seam allowances to the dress. Fold and topstitch the hem.
10.
Apply hooks to the front top edge. Apply decorative loops and buttons to the
front.
