5337 DRESS WITH DECORATIVE NECKLINE

YOU NEED: silk; iron-on interfacing; 1 zipper; 1 decorative loop; 2 buttons.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm for all seams, 2 cm for hem.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric pieces).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE MATCHING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Stand collar – 2 pieces

2. Centre back – 2 pieces

3. Centre front – 1 piece

4. Side front – 2 pieces

5. Side back – 2 pieces

6. Font facing – 1 piece

7. Sleeve – 2 pieces

Interfacing: under collar; front facing.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Apply the interfacing to the wrong side of the under collar and front facing.

2. With right sides together, stitch the facing around the shaped neckline. Trim the seam allowances. Clip the curves. Pull the facing to the wrong side of the dress and press it. Neaten the front facing raw edge.

3. Stitch side back to the centre back. Neaten the seams and press them backwards.

4. Stitch the centre back seam. Neaten the seam and press it.

5. Stitch side front to the centre front. Neaten the seams and press them towards the front center.

6. Neaten and stitch the left side edges leaving a slit. Press the seam open. Sew zipper in.

7. Neaten and stitch the right side edges. Press the seam open.

8. Stitch and neaten the shoulder seams. Press the seams backwards.

9. Fold the collar lower edge seam allowance to the wrong side and press it. Joining two the collar pieces along the outer contour. Trim and notch seams allowance on the curves, turn the collar right side out and press it. Stitch the raw collar edge to the neckline, topstitch the folded edge on this joining seam. Topstitch the collar edges.

10. Press sleeve hems under, stitch the sleeve seams. Topstitch the sleeve hems.

11. Stitch the sleeves to the armholes. Neaten the joining seams and press them to the bodice.

12. Press the dress hem under and stitch in place.

13. Attach decorative loops and buttons to the shaped neckline edge.
