5339 DRESS WITH CHIFFON SLEEVES

YOU NEED: chiffon, elastic guipure, zipper.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm. for all seams, 2 cm. for hem.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric pieces).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE MATCHING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Centre front – 1 piece

2. Side back – 2 pieces

3. Centre back – 2 pieces

4. Side front – 2 pieces

Guipure:

1. Back sleeve – 2 pieces

2. Front sleeve – 2 pieces

4. Binding stripe - 4 cm in width.

ADVICE: to prevent seam from stiffing, stitch pieces with special (zigzag) stitch. To prevent hem from stiffing neaten it with overlocker and then stitch using double needle. Do the same for all edges must stay elastic.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Stitch the front/back curved edges. Press the front seams towards the front centre, and the back seams towards the back centre.

2. Stitch and neaten the sleeve seams.

3. Stitch and neaten the side seams. Press the side seams backwards.

4. Stitch the sleeves to the armholes.

5. Finish the neckline by applying binding stripe or ready bias binding.

6. Neaten the back centre edges. Stitch the seam up to the closure notch. Press it seam open pressing the slit. Sew the zipper in.

7. Fold the dress and sleeve hems to the wrong side and stitch in place.
