5526 BLOUSE WITH FRONT
FLOUNCE
FABRIC: lightweight linen, silk or
mixed blouse fabric.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED: 5 buttons, iron-on interfacing and hat
elastic.
SEAM ALLOWANCES: 1 ñì for
all seams, 3 cm for the blouse hem and 2 cm for the sleeve lower edge.
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR,
THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,
IF
THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.
ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out
according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material
you need (do not forget about double and symmetric pieces).
WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH
NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE MATCHING!
CUTTING:
FABRIC:
1. Back – 1 piece
2. Front – 2 pieces
3. Flounce - 2 pieces
4. Collar - 2 pieces
5. Collar stand - 2 pieces
6. Sleeve – 2 pieces
7. Front band – 2 pieces
INTERFACING: front band, top collar and
collar stand.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Apply the interfacing to the wrong side of the front band, top collar and the collar stand.
2. Stitch the front/back waist
darts; press the darts towards the front/back centre.
3. With wrong sides inside, press the front band in half lengthways;
press the band outer edge for 0,7 cm under. Stitch the front band to the front
along the band side raw edge.
4. Neaten the flounce outer edge and lower edge with an overlocker
rolled seam. Easestitch the flounce along the inner edge. Gather the fabric.
5. Tack the flounce to the front band with the flounce lower edge upper
the blouse hemline. Topstitch the front band to the blouse 0,2 cm from the band
folded edge. Topstitch the flounce upper edge to the garment 0,5 cm below the
neck edge.
6. Stitch the garment side/shoulder seams; neaten them; press the seam
allowances backwards.
7. Make up and shape the collar.
8. Stitch the collar stands together
along the top/front edges, placing the collar between them.
9. Stitch the collar to the neckline
catching the flounce; topstitch the collar around.
10. Mark the hat elastic line on the
sleeve. Zigzag stitch over
the elastic on the wrong side; pull up the elastic to gather the fabric. Stitch the sleeve seam.
11. Stitch the sleeves to the armholes.
12. Make buttonholes; attach buttons.
13. Neaten
the blouse hem and the sleeve lower edges; fold them under and topstitch.
