5432 GATHERED BUST DRESS

FABRIC: natural or mixed lightweight dress fabrics.

YOU WILL ALSO NEED: zip and elastic.

SEAM ALLOWANCES: 1 cm for all seams, 3 cm for the dress hem. 

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric pieces).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE MATCHING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Sleeve - 2 pieces

2. Upper back – 2 pieces

3. Lower back - 2 pieces

4. Upper front - 1 piece

5. Lower front - 1 piece

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Stitch the waist darts; press the back darts to the back centre; press the front darts to the front centre.

2. Pleat the upper front lower edge; stitch the upper front to the lower front piece; neaten the seam; press the seam allowances upwards.

3. Stitch sleeve to the front; neaten the seam.

4. Pleat the upper back lower edge; stitch the upper back to the lower back piece; neaten the seam; press the seam allowances upwards.

5. Stitch sleeve to the back; neaten the seam.

6. Stitch the dress side edges and the sleeve side edges in one continuous seam; neaten the seam; press the seam allowances backwards.

7. Neaten the back centre edges. Stitch the back centre seam between the back lower split and the zipper notch. Press the seam open, pressing the splits slightly. Insert the zip. Fix the lower split seam allowances to the dress with double-sided iron-on interfacing. 

8. Neaten the neckline edge. Press the seam allowances under and topstitch.

9. Cut a piece of elastic according to your size; topstitch the elastic around the neckline and the sleeve lower edge.

10. Neaten the dress hem; press the hem under and slipstitch to the garment.
