5566 DRESS WITH SHAPED BODICE

 

YOU NEED: silk/viscose; fusing; 8 buttons; decorative braid; piping.

 

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

 

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm for all seams, 2 cm for hem.

 

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

 

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

 

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Back part – 2 pieces

2. Lower front part – 1 piece

3. Upper front part – 2 pieces

4. Back sleeve – 2 pieces

5. Front sleeve – 2 pieces

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Stitch back darts, press them toward back center. Stitch darts into lower front part, press darts towards center of lower front part.

 

2. Make loose-loop stitch at 0.5 cm from upper front part’s lower edge. Pull upper front part’s lower edge. Stitch upper front part to lower front part. Neaten the seam and press it downwards.

 

3. Mark closure slit into lower front part. Cut lower front part. Cut loops of decorative braid, fold them and stitch to the slit. Press the piping along the center. Overstitch front slit with the piping.

 

4. Neaten middle back part. Stitch middle back seam and press it apart up to the zipper closure notch. Press closure slit edges. Stitch the zipper in.

 

5. Stitch sleeve upper edge. Neaten sleeve’s upper seam and press it toward back part.

 

6. Stitch sleeve lower edge. Neaten sleeve lower edge and press it backwards.

 

7. Stitch dress’s side edges. Neaten side seams and press them backwards.

 

8. Stitch sleeves into armholes. Neaten joining seams.

 

9. Press the piping along the center. Overstitch piping’s corners, slash allowances and turn it right side out. Sew the piping to back/front necklines.

 

10. Neaten dress/sleeves hem, fold them into wrong side and topstitch along edges.

 

11. Sew buttons on left front edging.
