YOU NEED: soft mixed wool; fabric for half-belts; concealed zip; fusing; 4 buttons.
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.
SEAM ALLOWANCES: 1 cm for all seams, 2 cm for the hem.
ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).
WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!
CUTTING:
Fabric:
1. Center back part – 2 pieces
2. Side back part – 2 pieces
3. Front part – 2 pieces
4. Shoulder strap – 2 pieces
5. Half-belt – 2 pieces
6. Back facing – 2 pieces
7. Front facing – 1 piece
8. Armhole facing – 2 pieces
Fusing: half-belts, front/back facings, armhole facings.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Apply the fusing to wrong side of half-belts and facings.
2. Stitch upper/waist darts in front parts. Press upper darts downward, press waist darts toward front center.
3. Stitch back darts. Press darts toward back center. Stitch middle back edge and vent’s upper edge. The seam goes down from closure notch. Slash the seam at vent’ top. Press middle edge apart, press the went leftward. Neaten back middle seam and vent edges. Stitch the zipper. Make decorative stitch along vent’s top edge.
4. Stitch side back part to front part. Neaten the seam and press it toward back part. Stitch front middle edge. Neaten the seam and press it apart.
5. Neaten back/front/armhole facings’ lower edges. Lay back/front/armhole facings on fabric details and overstitch necessary edges. Fold facings into wrong side and press them.
6. Neaten inner edge of shoulder strap, fold it under, then topstitch.
7. Stitch side back part to center part between the notch and the hem. Stitch shoulder strap to back part along shoulder seam. Neaten the seam and press it toward back center. Neaten strap’s edge/armhole back segment/back shaped seam with one stitch. Press the seam toward back center and topstitch it up to the shaped seam. Topstitch back neckline allowance on the facing at 0.2 cm from the seam. Fold the facing into wrong side, then press. Stitch facing’s middle edge to zipper allowance, stitch facing’s shoulder edge to shoulder seam.
8. Make a pleat in the shoulder strap as marked. Stitch the strap to front part. Neaten the seam and press it toward front part. Fix front part’s/armhole’s facing to seams joining the strap.
9. Press dress hem into wrong side, fold it under and topstitch it.
10. Fold half-belts along the center wrong side out and overstitch them along two edges. Turn half-belts right side out and press them. Fold open edge under and make decorative stitch along detail’s perimeter at 0.5 cm from edges. Sew half-belts to the dress as marked, then sew buttons.
