5755 HOODED PULLOVER

YOU NEED: natural/mixed fabric.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

SEAM ALLOWANCES: 1 cm for all seams. 3 cm for ferment/sleeve hems and for pocket lower edge.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Back part – 1 piece

2. Front part – 1 piece

3. Back sleeve – 2 pieces

4. Front sleeve – 2 pieces

5. Patch pocket – 1 piece

6. Hood – 4 pieces

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Stitch front darts, press depth upward.

2. Cut fabric non-straight stripe of 4 cm width and of length equal to front slit’s double length. Press the stripe along the center, unfold it and press long edges toward marked line. Cut a slit into front part and trim it with this piping.

3. Neaten pocket’s edges excluding the lower one. Press pocket entrance’s edge into wrong side and topstitch with double stitch at 0.1 cm and 0.7 cm from edges. Press upper/side edges into wrong side, lay the pocket on front part as marked and topstitch with double stitch at 0.1-0.7 cm from edges.

4. Stitch back sleeves to back part. Stitch front sleeves to front part. Press seam allowances and topstitch the seam.

5. Stitch sleeve upper edges. Press seam allowances apart. Stitch sleeve lower edges/side edges with one seam. Press seam allowances apart.

6. Stitch hoods in pairs. Inner hood: press joining seam leftward and topstitch with double stitch at 0.1-0.7 cm distance. Outer hood: press seam allowances apart. Lay hoods right sides together and overstitch along outer contour; begin and finish overstitching at the line of joining the hood. Turn the hood right side out and press the seam.

7. Stitch inner hood into the neckline, fold outer hood’s lower open edge under and topstitch along joining seam. Make decorative stitch at 0.7 cm from hood edge.

8. Press garment/sleeve hems into wrong side, fold them under at 0.5 cm and topstitch them.
