YOU NEED: natural/mixed fabrics, elastic braid (waistband’s patter is of 4 cm width).

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm for all seams, 2 cm for hems.

NB! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Front part – 2 pieces

2. Back part – 2 pieces

3. Lower front part – 2 pieces

4. Lower back part – 2 pieces

5. Waistband – 1 piece

6. Pocket – 4 pieces

7. Front facing – 2 pieces

8. Back facing – 2 pieces

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Lay pockets right sides together and overstitch along tree edges (excepting side edge). Turn details right side out slashing corners and press it.

2. Topstitch the pocket on upper front part according to patter marking; do not overlap the allowance of waistband joining.

3. Stitch side seam and inseam into upper/lower parts. Neaten them and press backwards.

4. Stitch front/back facings’ seams. Lay upper parts’ facing on upper parts. Overstitch upper parts’ lower edges. Turn right side out slashing lower/upper corners. Press hems.

5. Stitch front/middle edges of the garment and neaten seams. Make another stitch along the seam joining back parts.

6. Stitch side edge/inseam edge of front/back lower parts and neaten seams. Press seams backwards.

7. Insert lower parts into upper ones adjusting upper edges of facing and short’s lower parts. Neaten upper edges of facing and shorts’ lower part. Make fixing stitch along neatened edge of garment’s lower part and facing (right side).

8. Neaten hems and fold then into wrong side, then topstitch. Press hems.

9. Press the waistband along the center right side out and neaten lower inner edge. Stitch waistband’s seam into ring.

10. Stitch the waistband to shorts’ upper edge folding pocket’s upper edge so that it lay not under stitch. Cut elastic braid in accordance with size and topstitch on both sides of waistband (according to waistband’s pattern). Topstitch waistband’s lower neatened edge along joining seam and press ready waistband.

11. Lay pocket’s upper part on the waistband and topstitch on it. Make fixing stitch along pocket’s upper part at waistband joining level.
